CDC Bubbleback Caddis

This is our best-producing Caddis Emerger pattern. It's modeled from Harrop's Original CDC Bubbleback, but with a few modifications we've added to improve the insect profile.

Fly Pattern Details

The CDC Bubbleback Caddis is my personal go-to when it comes to emergence patterns. The bubble wing creates an air pocket that leaves this pattern riding just above the surface tension. It's a vulnerability style fly that teases trout and gets them looking to take advantage of an easy meal. This is modeled off of Harrop's CDC Bubbleback but modified for our local fishing conditions. It's the one pattern I've used to convince fish to move out of their holding lies to chase and eat aggressively. I never leave home without these.
